A graveside service for Robert C. Holder, former co-owner of C&D Batteries of Buffalo, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio.

Mr. Holder, 83, of Martinsville, Ind., died Saturday.

He lived in Orchard Park from 1956 to 1963 and operated the manufacturer's agency at 443 Delaware Ave. with a partner, Leroy W. Staff.

Born in Ohio, Mr. Holder was a graduate of Dartmouth College and Ohio State University. He served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II and later as a captain and company commander in Korea.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, the former Kathryn Galbreath; a daughter, Hanlon St. Clair of Martinsville; three sons, Robert of Indianapolis, Stephen of Washington, D.C., and Anthony of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Beatrice Kimmel and Martha Freels, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
