Patrick M. Lougen, a veteran of the Vietnam War, died Saturday in a Phoenix hospital after a brief illness. He was 54.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Lougen was a graduate of Williamsville South High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and served as a master sergeant in Vietnam.
Mr. Lougen, who moved to Phoenix in 2002, had worked as a laborer and sheet metal worker. He enjoyed the outdoors and Mel Ott baseball, and loved the New York Yankees. His lifelong heroes were Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle.
Survivors include three daughters, Meghan C. and Amy P., both of Penfield, and Logan R. McPartlan of Cheektowaga; his mother, Louise of Getzville; four brothers, James J. of Cohoes, Martin T. of Troy, Mich., the Rev. Louis R. of Godfrey, Ill., and Thomas J. of Getzville; and a sister, Kathleen of Springville.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 348 Porter Ave. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery, Bath.
