A Mass of Christian Burial for Michelina Ciavarella will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1140 Abbott Road, after prayers at 8:30 in Lombardo Funeral Home, 3060 Abbott Road, Orchard Park.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg.
Mrs. Ciavarella died Saturday in her daughter's West Seneca home after a brief illness. She was 89.
Born Michelina Tricarico in Foggia, Italy, she was 14 when she immigrated to Canada. In 1937, she moved to Buffalo.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Martin's, as well as its senior citizens group. Mrs. Ciavarella enjoyed cooking and playing cards for pennies.
Her husband, Joseph Ciavarella, died in 1986.
Surviving are a daughter, Vera Maggio of West Seneca; a son, Angelo of Blasdell; a brother, Santo Tricarico of Cheektowaga; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
