A memorial service for Louise R. Amico will be held in August. Mrs. Amico, 97, died July 5 in Williamsville View Manor. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Born Louise Agliata in Buffalo, she was a lifelong resident of this area. She worked as a seamstress for M. Wile & Co. from 1950 to 1957; for Twin Coach Co. from 1957 to 1962; and as a dietary aide at Presbyterian Church Home in Buffalo, where she received its first Most Valuable Employee Award, from 1965 until she retired in 1982.
Mrs. Amico enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with family. She was president of the residents' council at Williamsville View Manor.
Her first husband, Nicholas S. Riggio, died in 1957. Her second husband, Salvatore Amico, died in the early 1990s.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Shanley of Amherst and Roberta McNeela of Cheektowaga; a son, Nicholas T. Riggio of Topsham, Maine; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
