James M. Bonnar, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly Sunday while playing ice hockey at Twin Rinks in Cheektowaga. He was 32.
Born in St. Catharines, Ont., Mr. Bonnar attended Niagara College in Welland, Ont., and earned a bachelor's degree in computer science in 1998 from Buffalo State College. He worked from 1996 to 2002 for Multisorb Technologies, and went to work in 2002 for Adelphia as a senior software analyst.
Mr. Bonnar enjoyed playing hockey and golf, and was a longtime season-ticket-holder for the Buffalo Bills.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Ellen Hennessey of Lancaster; a son, Jamie of Lancaster; and his parents, James and Barbara, of St. Catharines.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 950 Losson Road, Cheektowaga, with prayers at 9:15 in Urban-Amigone Funeral Home, 1024 French Road, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
