Two Buffalo firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a three-alarm blaze Sunday morning that damaged four Sweet Avenue houses and a car.
Fire officials said three vacant homes sustained an estimated $165,000 damage, while the fourth house, which was occupied, had about $1,500 damage to the roof. The car had an estimated $4,500 damage.
Authorities said the fire started in the car shortly before 12:30 a.m. and quickly spread to a vacant house at 447 Sweet.
The blaze jumped to nearby vacant 445 Sweet and then caused exposure damage to vacant 441 Sweet. Exposure damage also occurred at 451 Sweet, an occupied 2 1/2 -story home.
Officials said at least two of the houses are scheduled for emergency demolition. Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
