A 22-year-old employee was fatally shot and another was pistol-whipped after three men wearing masks pushed their way into a Brooklyn store and announced a robbery, police said.
The intruders forced three employees into the back of the store on Avenue U in Gravesend after going in at about 6:45 p.m. Friday, police said in a statement.
The shooting victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where he died less than an hour later. Police said the employee who was pistol-whipped declined medical attention. The three suspects fled on foot, police said.
