SALT STORAGE SHED WILL PROTECT DRINKING WATER

A salt storage shed will be built to protect Tonawanda Creek -- a source of drinking water for the City of Batavia.

The city received a $54,000 grant to build the shed, coordinated by Gov. George E. Pataki's Water and Sewer Co-Funding Initiative. The money is part of more than $12.7 million in grants for 43 water-quality improvement projects across the state.
