Igor Lipinski's visits to Buffalo are always a pleasure. Lipinski, a 17-year-old pianist from Poland, appeared a few months ago in "Paderewski's Children," a play by Kazimierz Braun presented at the University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts. He has also performed in Canisius College's Montante Cultural Center.

Sunday, Lipinski will be back, this time for a recital at 3 p.m. in the historic Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda. He is on his way to compete in the Eastman Young Artists International Piano Competition. Lipinski was one of 24 pianists worldwide to be selected for the competition, which is open to pianists 14 to 19 and will be held in Rochester the first week of August.

Besides running through his competition repertoire, Lipinski promises a few original compositions, movie themes and other surprises. The concert is sponsored by the Polish Cultural Foundation.

Admission is $15 in advance and $17 at the door. For information, call the Riviera, 692-2413.
