The Friends of the Lewiston Public Library are accepting books and other materials for their annual book sale Aug. 14-15. Items may be dropped off any time at the library, 305 S. Eighth St., or from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Red Brick School, using the Onondaga Street entrance.

The Friends are looking for donations of paperback or hardcover books in good condition, with covers, but cannot accept textbooks. Also, they need record albums, compact discs, cassettes, videotapes and books-on-tape in good condition.

The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 14-15 in the Red Brick School gymnasium, Onondaga and North Fourth streets. There will be a special "members only" preview sale on the evening of Aug. 13 for a nominal fee.

All proceeds from the sale benefit the library.

The Friends are also looking for volunteers to help presort items and work at the sale. Anyone interested in helping may contact Mike or JoAnne Lotterio at 754-1153.
