Harry S. Walton, a retired farmer, died Monday in Wyoming County Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 86.
Born in Bliss, Mr. Walton was a farmer for more than 30 years, retiring in 1974. He also served as the Wyoming County dog warden from 1969 to 1994. He was Wethersfield town clerk for several years.
He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Dorothy Purdy; a son, Dana, and a daughter, Dianne Stevens, both of Hermitage; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held today in Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St. Burial was in Union Park Cemetery, Wethersfield Springs.
