JoAnn D. Heath of Buffalo, a homemaker, died Wednesday in Sisters Hospital after a long illness. She was 61.
Born in Rock Hill, S.C., she attended schools in South Carolina and North Carolina.
She moved to Buffalo in 1961 and lived in the city for the rest of her life, except for the years between 1998 and 2003, which she spent in Erie, Pa.
Ms. Heath was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.
She enjoyed cooking and reading and spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Teresa and Geri Heath-Felton, both of Buffalo, and Tanya of Eugene, Ore.; four sons, Willie "Anthony" and Derwin, both of Erie, and Keith and Rodney, both of Eugene; 28 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bethesda Full Gospel Church, 1365 Main St.
