John J. Gross, a retired Harrison Radiator employee, died Friday in Medina Memorial Hospital. He was 81.
A Buffalo native, Mr. Gross married Lucy Krysinski on May 20, 1944. They were longtime Medina residents.
He was employed by Harrison Division of General Motors Corp. as a painter and retired in 1981.
Mr. Gross was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Medina Council 651, Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the Junior Wilson Sportsmen's Club and Loyal Order of Moose.
He was a sports fan, especially baseball, and enjoyed watching his grandson's wrestling matches.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Gary of Medina; four sisters, Anna Gabriel and Bernice Hochmuth, both of Oakfield, Evelyn Clark of Medina and Eleanor Fortner of Proctorville, Ohio; four brothers, Rudolph of Corfu, Richard of Brockport, Frank of Basom and Joseph of Oakfield; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Church, West Avenue and Eagle Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
