AFTER ASSAULT, WOMAN JUMPS FROM MOVING CAR

A Clarence woman who jumped from a moving car after she was assaulted managed to flag down a Niagara County Sheriff's Department patrol car shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.

Sheriff's Deputy Brian Grear said the woman said the driver of the car, a man, had been assaulting her while driving in Erie and Niagara counties and she tried to leave the car several times but was unable to until he slowed down on Dysinger Road.

The woman, who ended up in a ditch, was taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, by Rapids ambulance and treated for injuries.
