ROBERT W. ZAHM, LACKAWANNA TEACHER
JUNE 10, 1947 -- JULY 14, 2004

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert W. Zahm, a teacher in the Lackawanna School District and a network administrator, will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Parkside and Parker avenues. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.

Mr. Zahm, who lived in Buffalo, died unexpectedly Wednesday in Sisters Hospital. He was 57.

He was born in Buffalo, graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute and earned a bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University.

He taught in the Lackawanna schools since 1973.

Mr. Zahm was active in the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club and won the "Fastest Boat on the Lake" award in 2003. Over the years, he accumulated numerous sailing trophies, including "Boat of the Year." He had been involved with computers for the past 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, the former Marilyn Dixon; two daughters, Hillary of Washington, D.C., and Marguerite of Virginia; a son, Robert of Chicago; and two sisters, Kathleen Rolls of San Diego and Susan Doherty of Snyder.
