$1 MILLION WINNER GOT SCRATCH-OFF TICKET AS GIFT

A retired receptionist from the mid-Hudson Valley is a millionaire, thanks to a scratch-off New York lottery ticket given to her as a birthday present.

Lois Zeoli, 60, of Hopewell Junction, received the "Win for Life" ticket at a surprise birthday party last month. Her daughter, Dina Clerc, 36, of Wappingers Falls, scratched the ticket to reveal Zeoli had won the top prize.

Lottery television personality Yolanda Vega gave Zeoli her $1 million check Friday in Poughkeepsie.

Zeoli plans to share the winnings with her daughter and her son, Michael, 32.

The ticket was purchased at a drugstore in Fishkill.

One in 7.52 million people win the top prize.

Zeoli is the 23rd Dutchess County resident to become a lottery millionaire since 1982.
