Edward J. Faltisco of West Seneca, a retired Republic Steel Corp. employee, died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 68.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Faltisco was born in Buffalo and graduated from Hutchinson-Central High School. He attended night classes at Erie Community College.
Mr. Faltisco served in the Army during the 1950s.
He worked for more than 20 years as a rigger at Republic Steel, retiring in the early 1980s. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America.
Survivors include his wife, the former Judith Fadeley; six daughters, Elizabeth Dinderski of West Valley, Debra Doctor of West Seneca, Diana McPeek of Ulster Park, Jacquelyn Dinderski of Blasdell, Cathleen Oliver of West Seneca and Sandra Adebayo of Buffalo; two sons, John of Buffalo and Gregg of West Seneca; a sister, Teresa Beier of Buffalo; three brothers, Robert of Lancaster, Francis of Buffalo and Joseph of West Seneca; and 15 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Curtin Funeral Home, 1340 Union Road, West Seneca.
