Rose G. Polka, 88, died Tuesday (May 27, 2003) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
Born Rose DiFlorio in Rochester, she came to Niagara Falls with her family as a young child. She attended local schools and worked at the Four Seasons movie theater for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and a 50-year member of the Girl Scouts of Niagara County.
She was a former member and past president of the Niagara Falls Garden Club and a member of the Niagara County Home Bureau, Memorial Day Association and Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Mrs. Polka enjoyed making handcrafts and gardening.
She and her husband, Stanley J., celebrated their 60th anniversary in 1998. He died in 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Marshanke, and a sister, Emily DiFlorio, both of Niagara Falls, and several grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Teresa's Church, Macklem and College avenues. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
