FUN WITH SCIENCE

It's being billed as the "Shock & Awe Sci-Fi Road Show." Get past the shamelessly opportunistic name and you'll find some pretty heavy science-fiction hitters are rolling into town: Peter Mayhew, Chewbacca in the original "Star Wars" trilogy; Robert Picardo, the doctor from "Star Trek: Voyager"; Ethan Phillips, Neelix from "Voyager"; Robin Curtis, Lt. Saavik from "Star Trek III" and "IV"; and Rick Searfoss, former commander and pilot of the late space shuttle Columbia and pilot of the shuttle Atlantis.

There will be a Q&A with some guests; Picardo and Phillips will reprise their "Star Trek" roles to perform the original one-hour play "Housecall." Limited sci-fi memorabilia will be for sale.

The show is from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Sheraton Four Points Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Admission is $15 (advance ticket discounts are available online at www.sfedora.com); children under age 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Family passes are $30.
