The Town Board will discuss relocating a power line on Chicora Road, which snapped earlier this month, at its work session at 7 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall.
When the line snapped, it damaged a home, and knocked out power to major portions of the town and parts of Youngstown, causing thousands of dollars in lost business. The electrical outage lasted from 6:15 to 9 p.m. on May 2, a Friday, and took out much of Center Street in the village, including many restaurants that depend on Fridays for a majority of their business.
Homeowners Rodney P. and Kim M. Shumway said the town had agreed in 1998 to relocate the utility pole in front of their home. The work was never done.
