While reading The News article concerning Lynn Slepian's feelings about James Kopp, a thought came to mind. Perhaps pro-life people should host a race. The proceeds could be used to travel to Washington and petition our U.S. senators. They should be encouraged to pass the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which they have twice voted down. Passage of this act would establish, as a matter of federal law, that an unborn baby is, in fact, a living human being. Passage of this act is ardently advocated by the family of Laci Peterson and her unborn son, Connor.
With the exception of the New Jersey head of the National Organization for Women, the abortion industry has been strangely silent about this tragedy, and the subsequent charge of double homicide. Her response was, "If this is murder, then any time a late-term fetus is aborted, they could call it murder." Exactly right!
Slepian says nothing would make her happier than to hand-pick Kopp's roommate. Perhaps someday soon, when justice prevails, his roommate might well be an abortion doctor or one of his co-conspirators. Then those who value human life can also say we've done our job well.
