Herbert C. Lerner, 76, of Cheektowaga, a retired Westinghouse employee, died Friday (May 23, 2003) in Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga after a long illness.
The Buffalo native attended Pine Hill High School. He served with the Navy in World War II in the Asian, Pacific and European theaters.
He worked in production control for Westinghouse Corp. for more than 35 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed boating and fishing.
His wife of 42 years, the former Doris Schwenker, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Alan D. of Kenmore; a brother, Bernard of Amherst; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
