Emily Obrist, 17, a senior at Nardin Academy, knows the secret of getting good grades and a lot done:

"Whenever I have the opportunity, I work ahead, and try to get assignments completed prior to their due date," reveals Emily, of Orchard Park.

At school, Emily has served as lighting manager, stage manager and student director for Nardin's plays and musicals over four years. She has also been a member of the chorus and editor of the club section of the yearbook. In addition, she played varsity golf on Nardin's championship team, of which she has been captain.

This teen also does volunteer work. For instance, she is entering her third year at Lothlorien Therapeutic Riding Center for handicapped children and adults.

In the fall, she will attend the University at Buffalo, planning to earn a degree in pharmacy. She says that this field "has endless possibilities."
