Buffalo Contemporary Dance is mixing things up next weekend. The modern dance company, along with several dance groups that share its studio space, will present a two-part program that features "a variety of dance styles and music," says BCD co-Artistic Director Leslie Wexler. "The program's works are technical as well as entertaining."

The first half of the program will showcase several works by Wexler including the solos "Gossamer" and "Without Words," plus an excerpt from her group work "Quintessence" set to Vivaldi's Concerto in B-minor for four violins. Also scheduled are Amy Taravella's "A Bit of Chopin Shared," and internationally known choreographer David Parson's "The Parsons Etude."

The program's second half features works by guest artists Deborah Lipa-Ciotta's Creative Dance for Children, Robin Monique's Les Ballet Touba N-Dame Fall, Hilda Ramos's Caribbean/Flamenco Dance and Valerie J. Willis's Imani Dance Workshop Ensemble.

Both performances are at 7 p.m. mext Friday and Saturday in Buffalo Contemporary Dance's studio on the third floor of the Great Arrow Industrial Park, 255 Great Arrow Ave. Tickets are $10 adult, $7 one child, and $3 each additional child. Call 884-2154 or 868-6847.
