Charles J. Gerace, 77, a retired traffic manager, died Monday (May 19, 2003) in his Town of Hamburg home after a long illness.
Born in Buffalo, Gerace served with the Army in the European Theater during World War II. He worked as a traffic manager for W&F Manufacturing Co. in Buffalo from 1941 until his retirement in 1986.
A member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Athol Springs, Gerace served as president of the Holy Name Society and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. he also was a member of Hamburg Council 2220, Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed golfing and gardening
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, the former Maryann Fallon; two daughters, Mary Pat Baker of Lackawanna and Linda Hofner of Eden; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Athol Springs. Prayers were said in Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home, Town of Hamburg. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, Town of Hamburg.
