Brad Angelo is closing in on his third George A. Obenauer Masters Tournament title.

Angelo remained undefeated in the Buffalo Bowling Association's 40th annual event by recording Wednesday's highest pinfall in the final winner's bracket match of the tournament at Lancaster Lanes. Angelo defeated Joe Ciccone, 945-915. Angelo won the tournament in 1994 and 2001.

Angelo will await the winner of tonight's loser's bracket final between Ciccone and Steve John Jr. The winner of that match takes on Angelo at 8:30 p.m. and will have to beat him twice for the title.

In other matches, 2000 champion John eliminated Jason Ciliberto, 862-831, and knocked out John Ochal, 868-702. Ciliberto beat Jack Jurek, 900-782.

Those matches helped determine the final standings from fourth place on: Ciliberto, Jurek, Ochal, Mike Dirmyer, Dave Guindon, Mike Hanes, Mike Faliero, Mike Sadowy and Gary Faulkner.
