Henry S. Jasek, 74, who worked as an accountant for Smith Brothers and then Haseley Trucking for about 30 years, died Monday (May 19, 2003) in his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Massena and attended Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls. He was a graduate of Kelley Business Institute, where he earned a degree in accounting.
Jasek served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and earned the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was an avid golfer and gardener and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Niagara Falls.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, the former Lucille Giove; three sons, William of North Tonawanda, Robert of Tampa, Fla., and Paul of Grand Island; a brother, Chester of Camp Hill, Pa.; a sister, Stella Steiger of Rochester; and seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Niagara Falls.
