ANTOINETTE A. JOHNSON, COURT STENOGRAPHER

Antoinette A. Johnson, 90, a retired court stenographer, died unexpectedly Saturday (May 17, 2003) in her Cheektowaga home.

Born Antoinette Adamski in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Hutchinson-Central High School.

She began working as a mortgage tax examiner in the Erie County clerk's office in 1952. Later, she served as a stenographer in State Supreme Court. She also was office manager for her husband's insurance agency. She retired in 1977.

Active in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she was past president of the Altar Boys Club and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Her husband, Frank H., died in 1977.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary A. Chmiel of Amherst; three sons, Frank Jr. of Palmetto, Fla., James of Orchard Park and Robert of Henrietta; a sister, Angela Adamski of Cheektowaga; 14 grandchil-dren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her nephew, the Rev. John Adamski of Atlanta, will lead a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stanislaus Church, 123 Townsend St., after prayers at 8:45 in Barron-Miller Funeral Home, 3025 William St., Cheektowaga. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
