IT'S OFFICIAL: FEBRUARY WAS COLD

Snowfall and sunshine were near normal in February, although the monthly average temperature of 20.8 degrees was 5 degrees colder than normal. That made it the coldest February in 10 years.

There was 19.5 inches of snow during the month, 2 inches more than normal. Snow covered the ground the entire month, although it never reached great depths.

Residents received 35 percent of the possible sunshine for the month, close to the average of 36 percent.
