Lena DeGregorio, 96, died Friday (Nov. 29, 2002) in Mount St. Mary's Long Term Health Care Facility after a brief illness.
Mrs. DeGregorio was born Lena Tavano in Pocahontas, W.Va. She moved to Niagara Falls with her family when she was a child and attended city schools.
She worked 25 years in the gift wrapping and notions department of the former Beir's Department Store, from which she retired in the early 1970s.
She had been a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir at Walnut Avenue Christian Church.
Her husband, Anthony, died in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter Virginia "Gina" Rizzo of Niagara Falls; one sister, Virginia Moceri of Marysville, Ohio; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
