JUDY M. GEORGE, CO-OWNED BUSINESS

Judy M. George, co-owner of Don George's Sports Center in Clarence, died Friday (Nov. 29, 2002) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a long illness. She was 59.

The former Judy Johnston was a native of Distant, Pa., and had lived in the Buffalo area for 43 years.

She and her husband, Donald L. George, began the Main Street business, which sells snowmobiles, ATVs and motorcycles, 32 years ago. The business became known as "The Big Boy Toy Store." Mrs. George worked at the business until becoming ill.

A member of Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, she enjoyed spending time at the family's summer house on Chautauqua Lake and home in the Orlando, Fla., area.

She and her husband were married 43 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Helms, Karen Smith and Jacquelyn Blonski, all of Clarence; a son, Donald L. Jr. of Clarence; three sisters, Norma Schrecongost and Betty Smith, both of Distant, and Dorothy Copenhaver of New Bethlehem, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, 8445 Greiner Road, Clarene. Burial will be in Clarence Fillmore Cemetery.
