When the war on terrorism first started, President Bush said that he would not leave any stone unturned. Since then, we have learned that the majority of the terrorists who hijacked the planes and flew them into the World Trade Center were Saudi Arabian. And there is now evidence that the government of Saudi Arabia has been financing terrorism.
With new FBI terrorist warnings on a regular basis, we still live in a certain amount of fear. For Bush to sit back and do nothing about the latest events sends the wrong message. Every terrorist in the world could seek a safe haven in Saudi Arabia if we sit back and do nothing.
Now is the time to put the Saudis on notice and show them that we won't tolerate the financing and harboring of terrorists. It seems awfully hypocritical to attack Afghanistan and Iraq, but let Saudi Arabia go unscathed. I think this has a lot more to do with oil than it does terrorism.
