Beatrice C. Bolden died Tuesday (Nov. 26, 2002) in Delaware Heights Health Care Center after a long illness. She was 101.
Born Beatrice Chase in Chicago, she had lived in Buffalo since 1904. She was a graduate of School 6, Technical High School and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute.
She was an office worker with the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, retiring in 1971.
She was a life member of the Women's Home and Mission Society and also belonged to St. Luke AME Zion Church.
Her friend of 50 years, Edythe Clawson of Amherst, said Mrs. Bolden is survived by several cousins, including 103-year-old Christina Richards of St. Louis.
Services will be held at noon Monday in St. Luke AME Zion Church, 314 E. Ferry Street. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
