Services for Marion L. Humphrey, 90, once a leading soprano in her church choir, will be held at noon Saturday in Bethel Tabernacle United Holy Church, 668 Clinton St. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
Born Marion Colbert in Toronto, Mrs. Humphrey died Monday (Nov. 25, 2002) in Grace Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.
She came to the United States as an infant with her parents and lived in New Jersey, where she attended school. She came to Buffalo in 1950, the year she joined Bethel Tabernacle. In addition to singing in the choir, she worked with the Missionary Department.
Mrs. Humphrey also was president of the Western New York District Young People's Holy Association for many years and was a field worker for the Northern District Convocation of the United Holy Church.
Her husband, William H. Sr., a district elder in the United Holy Church, died in 1983.
Survivors include two daughters, Justine Holder and Brenda Mountcastle, both of Buffalo; three sons, James P. Colbert of Jersey City, N.J., and William H. Jr. and Brian C., both of Buffalo; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
