Martha F. Hendley of Shiloh, Ga., a homemaker and longtime resident of Cohocton, died Sunday (Nov. 24, 2002) at the home of her son in Shiloh following a brief illness. She was 82.
Born Martha Fleishman in Cohocton, she attended local schools. She was a homemaker and mother.
She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cohocton. She attended the Shiloh Baptist Church after moving to Georgia in 1981 with her husband, John F. Hendley Sr., when he retired from McBride Trucking in Middleport.
Her hobbies included arts and crafts and gardening, particularly planting flowers.
Hendley was predeceased by her husband of 61 years.
She is survived by three sons, John R. of Shiloh, James W. of Cohocton, and Donald Sr. of Barker; three daughters, Georgia Dunn of Lockport, Patricia Olaf of Gasport, and Nancy Burnett of Lockport; a brother, Victor Fleishman of Cohocton; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home, 100 E. Naples St., Wayland.
