Berniece W. Mead of Hudson, Fla., a retired office manager and former Perry resident, died Monday at her home after a short illness. She was 84.

Born Berniece Conklin in Perry, she was a graduate of Perry High School. For many years, she was the office manager at Lew-Mark Baking Co. in Perry. She retired in 1988.

Mrs. Mead was a member of First Baptist Church of Hudson, the Women of the Moose and the College of Regents. She loved arts and crafts and knitting, and was a bowler and bingo player. She moved to Florida in 1975.

Wife of the late Grant Mead, she is survived by two sons, Gary of Dundee and Robert of Perry; two daughters, Delores Rutherford of Ocala, Fla., and Elaine DiSalvo of Mount Morris; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 98 N. Main St., Perry. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Perry.
