Essihe W. Morris of Buffalo, a retired carpenter, died Friday (Nov. 22, 2002) in St. Joseph Hospital in Cheektowaga after a long illness. He was 71.
Born in Philadelphia, he moved to Lackawanna in 1932 and remained there until moving to Buffalo in 1992.
Morris, who served in the U.S. Army, worked for more than 30 years as a carpenter at Erie County Medical Center before his retirement in 2001. Well-known as a fix-it man, he loved to work on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, the former Elaine Mallory; a daughter, Karen Ware; four sons, William, Kenneth, Michael and Vernon and a stepson, Wayne Willis, all of Buffalo; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Evangel Assembly of God Church, 1800 Maple Road, Amherst. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, West Seneca.
