The News recently characterized my remark concerning the Common Council as "insulting." Unfortunately, Brian Meyer chose to print one of my more mellow characterizations. For years, some cowardly Council people have viciously slandered my character and that of other well-intended citizens and businessmen on the floor of the Council, hiding from slander lawsuits behind the cloak of legislative immunity, and The News did not characterize those remarks as "insulting."
Instead, The News chose to print what it knows was not true and was slanderous for the shock effect, never telling readers that the cretins making the remarks are protected by legislative immunity.
