Bridget E. Empson, 60, of Lockport, a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Cheektowaga for more than 30 years, died Thursday (Nov. 21, 2002) after suffering an apparent heart attack in her home.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in Rhoney Funeral Home, 1124 Ontario Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Sacred Heart Church, Eleventh Street and South Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
Born Bridget Grace in Niagara Falls, Mrs. Empson graduated from Niagara Falls High School and received her licensed practical nurse degree from DeGraff Memorial Hospital. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital in 2001.
She moved to the Town of Lockport from North Tonawanda in 1994.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lockport and was involved in Opportunities Unlimited.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley E.; two sons, George P. Saeger Jr. and Alex L., both of the Town of Lockport; three daughters, Debbie L. Lewinski of Depew, Stephanie M. of Rochester and Cassandra N. of Niagara Falls; five brothers, Daniel Grace of Amherst, and William Grace, Robert Grace, John Grace and Richard Grace, all of Niagara Falls; three sisters, Teresa Grace of Niagara Falls and Katherine Strong and Mary Guslawski, both of North Tonawanda; and a grandson.
