Amherst Symphony Orchestra Women's Committee will have a Holiday Preview Luncheon at 11 a.m. Dec. 4 in Brookfield Country Club. Soprano Cheryl Hudson, who will be guest artist at the orchestra's Dec. 8 concert in Amherst Middle School, will be featured performer. Women bowlers of the Buffalo Club opened their season Tuesday in the clubhouse. Officers for the year are chairwoman, Kaye West; treasurer, Louise Batson; secretary, Marge Lazar; rules and roster, Helen Reilly; publicity, Inez Wolfsohn; prizes, Mary Ann Byers; roll-offs, Batson and Ann Boland.

Sandy Beach Yacht Club Women's Organization is sponsoring a TGIF Italian Night in the clubhouse Friday, with cocktails at 6 p.m. preceding dinner at 7.

Ring Masters Handbell Choir will entertain at a holiday dinner for Clarence Women's Club at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in Clarence Town Park clubhouse. Appetizers will be served at 6. Sandy Smith is coordinator.

Beulah Chapter 176, Order of the Eastern Star, will elect officers and will honor its matron, Merrily Kuhn, and other chapter matrons for 2002 at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in Zion Masonic Temple, Orchard Park.

Greater Buffalo Alumnae Panhellenic will have a luncheon at noon Dec. 4 in Original Pancake House on Niagara Falls Boulevard.

Catherine Gildiner of Toronto, a native of Lewiston, will discuss her memoir, "Too Close to the Falls" at a program sponsored by Clarence Book Review Club that is open to the public at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4 in Clarence Town Park clubhouse. Gildiner is a columnist, novelist, screenwriter and clinical psychologist. For information, call 662-4358.

Oasis Women's Ministries of Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church will sponsor Christmas teas and fashion shows from 10 a.m. to noon and 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 in the church, 8445 Greiner Road, Williamsville. The morning revue will be fashions from Stein Mart and Uncommon Threads will present the evening show. Tickets are $2 and may be purchased at the door or by calling Sue Eulrich at 688-7165.

Ruth Gourlay, a docent with Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society, will speak on "Sears Roebuck of Yesteryear" at a program sponsored by Orchard Park Historical Society at 8 p.m. Dec. 9 in Orchard Park Municipal Building. The event is open to the public.
