Could the media please kindly stop referring to Dr. Barnett Slepian as an "abortion doctor"? Yes, he cared for women who were exercising their legal, moral and ethical right to chose this course. He also cared for women who joyously carried their pregnancies to term, for those who were having trouble conceiving and for those who had a whole variety of routine and not-so-routine gynecological needs.
Slepian was a gentle soul, a loving husband and father and a fine physician. He was murdered by a coward. The sole function of the trial of James Kopp is to determine whether he was that coward.
