I was shocked by something I read in an article in The Buffalo News on Nov. 4, by sportswriter Allen Wilson. The article mentioned that Bill Belichick's defensive game against the Bills in Super Bowl XXV was so good that it's in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

To be perfectly honest, I thought Belichick's defensive game plan for Super Bowl XXV was stupid. Thurman Thurman gained 135 yards on those 15 carries. If Buffalo would have taken advantage of that Belichick defense and ran a lot more they would have blown Belichick's game plan to pieces.

A game plan certainly doesn't belong in the hall of fame because your opponent was dumb enough to make it work.
