BANNER DAY FOR HISTORIC CEMETERY

U.S. and British flags flutter in the breeze during a special ceremony Saturday putting Cheektowaga's War of 1812 Cemetery on the National Register of Historic Places. The cemetery off Aero Drive is the final resting place for 200 U.S. and 100 British soldiers who died in 1814 and 1815 -- enemies in the War of 1812. The cemetery's official Certificate of Listing was presented during the ceremony.
