Amherst

Town Board members will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday to consider whether to extend a moratorium on the construction of cell towers.

The Williamsville School Board will hold a special meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the district boardroom, 105 Casey Road, Amherst, to decide whether it will hold a special election to replace board member Donald R. Henning, who resigned last week.
The Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall, 5583 Main St., Williamsville. A work session at 6 will precede the board hearings.
The Amherst Museum board of trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the museum, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road.

Aurora

The East Aurora Village Board will hold a public hearing Monday on a proposed local law changing the closing hours for the village's three parks to 10 p.m. The hearing is part of the board's regular meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. The board also will conduct a public hearing on plans for the Bank of Holland to locate a branch on Route 20A.

Boston

The Town Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday for an agenda review session, followed at 7:30 by the regular session. The meeting will be in Town Hall, 8500 Boston State Road.

Buffalo

A plan to study the pros and cons of selling advertising space on city-owned vehicles will be discussed when the Common Council's Legislation Committee meets at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

North Council Member Joseph Golombek said a growing number of cities around the nation are using this marketing tool to raise money. This year, more than 20 cities will introduce NASCAR-style advertising on police cars.

Golombek thinks city garbage trucks, snowplows and administrative vehicles would be more suitable for experimenting with ads. Officials will discuss legal implications and other issues when the committee meets in Council Chambers on the 13th floor of City Hall.

Grand Island

The Town Board plans to adopt its proposed 2003 town budget during Monday's regular business meeting in Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road. The $6.6 million spending plan increases the tax rate by 4.6 percent for 2003. The board meeting starts at 8 p.m.

Hamburg

The Village Board will hold a work session at 6 p.m. Monday in Village Hall, 100 Main St., followed by a voting meeting at 7.

A public meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium of Holmes Elementary School, 365 Dupont Ave., regarding the alternatives that are being considered for the disposal of radioactive contamination in Building 14 at the former Linde Air Products, now Praxair, facility on East Park Drive.
