MAYVILLE -- A Fredonia man is in the Chautauqua County Jail following his arrest for violating his probation on a drug charge, authorities said.

Sheriff's officers said Tuesday that Brendan Walsh, 28, was featured on the county's Wanted List on June 14.

In addition to violating probation on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance, deputies said Walsh was also sought for failure to appear in Town of Pomfret Court.

He was arrested and sent to the Mayville jail. No bail was listed.

is charged in burglary

KILL BUCK -- An 18-year-old Salamanca resident has been arrested by Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies in connection with a recent burglary at the Nafco II on Route 417.

The youth, who was not identified because of his age, is charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny for an entry at the cigarette outlet around 4 a.m. Oct. 24.

He is the second person to be charged in the burglary. Deputies said further arrests are possible.

The youth is being held in the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
