Sidney Davis, 82, who taught ballroom dancing in Buffalo after retiring from the Ford Motor Co. Stamping Plant, died Sunday (Oct. 28, 2001) in Mariner Health Care, Port Charlotte, Fla. He was a resident of Punta Gorda, Fla.
A native of Birmingham, England, Davis served in the British army during World War II.
After retiring from Ford, he opened a dance studio off Bailey Avenue.
He was a member of the Masons, Cazenovia Golf Club and Sunny Breeze Golf Club. He also enjoyed bowling.
Davis moved to Florida in 1985.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Bannister of Niagara Falls; a son, Colin of Coral Springs, Fla.; a sister, Joyce Maynard of Birmingham; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
