Margaret G. Hill, 76, of Bloomington, Ind., former director of public relations at Mount St. Mary's School in Buffalo, died Sunday (Oct. 28, 2001) in Bloomington Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Margaret Ryan in Moline, Ill., she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Iowa School of Journalism. She later earned a master's degree in mass communication from the University at Buffalo.
Mrs. Hill came to the Buffalo area from Eugene, Ore., in 1965. She worked for several years as a reporter for the Amherst Bee, then served for several years as director of public relations at Mount St. Mary's School.
She was an elder in First Presbyterian Church and was president of the Buffalo chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. A former resident of Williamsville and West Amherst, she moved to Bloomington in 1990.
She and her husband, Walter R. Jr., a retired professor in the University at Buffalo School of Education, were married in 1946.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Walter R. III of Champaign, Ill., and Andrew of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Emily Woods of Roswell, Ga., and Laura Logan of Flower Mound, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church, Bloomington.
