Dolores M. Lazatin, 81, who was an elementary school English teacher in Manila, Philippines, for 28 years, died Monday (Oct. 29, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born Dolores Musngi in Pampanga, Philippines, she married Patricio G. Lazatin in 1940 in Bulacan, Philippines. He died in 1999.
Mrs. Lazatin attended schools in the Philippines and was a graduate of Philippine Teachers College in Manila.
She lived in St. Ana, Pampanga, until 1956, when she moved with her family to Manila.
Mrs. Lazatin retired in 1965 from her position as an English teacher.
She came to Niagara Falls with her husband and part of her family in 1982.
Survivors include six sons, Dr. Bienvenido of Bergenfield, N.J., Abelardo and Reynando, both of Quezon City, Philippines, Jose and Emmanuel, both of Niagara Falls, and Andy of Grand Island; a daughter, Petronila Galang of Quezon City; two sisters, Emerenciana Lapuz and Aquilina Dallo, both of Quezon City; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Memorial Cemetery, Quezon City.
