Erie County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Jamestown man in connection with the theft of nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise Monday evening from the Wal-Mart store in Springville, the sheriff's department reported today.
Deputies said William R. Buckley, 25, was leaving the store with the items when the alarm sounded. After store personnel questioned him, he fled into the parking lot, where Deputy William Cranston apprehended him, authorities said.
Buckley has been charged with grand larceny and felony possession of stolen property. He was arraigned before Concord Justice Timothy Frank and released on his own recognizance.
