FALWELL, ROBERTSON OFFENDED MANY

In regard to the Oct. 3 letter, "Clinton should follow in Schumer's footsteps," the writer argues that I, a member of the ACLU, accused by the Revs. Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson of responsibility for the deaths of over 5,000 innocent people, should not vent my indignant reaction to avoid "inventing a controversy when we should be coming together." Then he launches an attack on Sen. Hillary Clinton for not applauding enough to suit him during President Bush's address before Congress. He even invites News columnists and editors to join him in a little Clinton-bashing.

Well, nobody ever accused Clinton-haters of having a sense of proportion. Such errant nonsense makes me wonder if any number of these people could screw in a light bulb.
